Tip of the Day

I just saw a tip on the Nate Berkus show that I NEED TO DO RIGHT NOW!   Peter Walsh, the organizing and decluttering guru, had a great idea on how to keep receipts under control.  He suggests getting an accordian file with 12 slots, one for each month.  When you bring home a recipt put it in the file for that month.   If you need to find a receipt, it will be easy to find because  they are all in ONE PLACE.   Keep the recipts in the file and if after on years time you no longer need to receipt, throw it out.       I so need to do this because I have receipts everywhere.   Going to get my accordian file the next time I go to the store.

  1. This is a great idea. I have one of these for our home accounts and one for my business accounts. It works great. It makes it so easy when it comes time for taxes or when looking things up.

I don't put my "big" purchase reciepts in there though...I can never remember exactly when we bought the fridge or computer or whatever. Instead, I have a notebook with page pockets in it. I put the reciept and user manual in there. It makes it easier for me.

But for the little things, such as bills, food reciepts, and medical stuff...it all goes there. I totally recommend you getting one soon! Gotta love anything we can do to make life easier!
