Dare to Share #228

It is Friday night, and you now what that means...
It is time to Dare to Share!

This week brought high school registrations days, another week of my daughter's program, and helping a friend move. This weekend I am going to have the chance to do something, I have never done before and I am quite excited about it.  I am going to Family Camp.  Each summer many people from our church go to a special family camp weekend. I will be attending with some of my best friends, and daughter.  We plan on horse back riding, zip-lining and so much more.  This will be a great way to end what was a pretty good summer. Let's just hope I remember to take pictures this time, so I can share all about it.

Another thing super exciting this week (though it actually happened a few weeks ago) was my Pokeball Rice Krispie Treats was featured on People magazine online in this post 10 Pokemon Go Dessert Recipes. I have known they were going to be featured for about a month, but I missed when it went live because it was right around the start of the Olympics.

Need a fun lunch idea?  This week I featured this adorable and easy animal lunch idea by The Real Thing with the Coake Family

My co-host Kim from Kandy Kreations has a really fun idea for Harry Potter fans this week. See how to make this Back To Hogwarts Book Wreath that would be really cute in a classroom or library.

Now it is time for this week's party. You are welcome to share anything that you would like to share.  If you are chosen as a Dare to Share Feature your post will be featured on the blog and social media.  This party is also seen on Kandy Kreations for double the exposure.  Kim also chooses posts from the party to feature on her blog and social media.

Adorable, Easy Animal Lunch Idea - Dare to Share Feature

While we have another week before we go back to school, I know there are many areas who have been back a few weeks already.  When my kids were younger they would bring packed lunches to school, and it was usually a struggle to come up with ideas that were not boring. One lunch that my kids would have loved are these animal pizza bagels by The Real Thing with the Coake Family. Using a few quick and easy ingredients, lunch can go from boring to adorable.  Be sure to stop over to The Real Thing with the Coake Family to see how she made them.

Pokemon Go Desserts

Pokemon Pokeball Rice Krispie Treats
A few weeks ago, I was contacted by someone at People online asking for permission to feature my Pokeball Rice Krispie Treats.  I love reading People magazine online, so of course I said yes.  I had been watching for the feature for a few days without seeing it. When the Olympics started and I still did not see it, I figured they changed their mind.  Well they didn't.  It turns out I just missed seeing the feature.  If you like to play Pokeball Go, you will definitely want to check out 10 Pokemon Go Themed Desserts

Dare to Share #227

It is Friday night, and you know what that means..
It is time to Dare to Share!

A photo posted by Pam (@pamspartyplanning) on

This week has been a bit different than most.  My daughter started a two week program where I am doing a lot of driving everyday.  We are also starting to get ready for back to school.  This was the last summer before my son graduates, and I am not really looking forward to going back.  Tonight I had a girls night with some of my friends, and ate this entire banana split!   This afternoon I wrote about post about what happens when It Rains on Your Party.  I thought I had hit publish, but I just found out when I got home from my night out that I didn't. Ooops! I will publish that post this weekend.

Because I have been on the road all week, I did not really have the computer time to share features.  I will have a few from last week's party, and will still be sharing them.

Are your kids into Harry Potter?  My co-host Kim has a really fun party Harry Potter post.  Free printable Hogwarts Express and Cupcake Toppers over on her blog Kandy Kreations.

Now it is time for this week's party.  You are welcome to share anything that you would like to share.   This party is also shown on Kandy Kreations for double the exposure.  If you are chosen as a Dare to Share Feature, your post will be featured on the blog and social media. Kim also chooses posts to feature on her blog and social media.

Lunch Box Pizza Roll Ups - Dare to Share Feature

Easy lunches, Pizza, lunch box ideas

It is getting to be that time of year, that I really do not look forward to.. Back to School.  Don't get my wrong, when they were younger it was a lot more exciting.  Now my youngest two are in high school.  My son is going to  graduate at the end of this school year.  Now I like to really enjoy the slower pace of summer while we still can, and wish that time would slow down. My kids do not really want to pack lunches anymore, but when they did these Lunch Box Pizza Roll Ups by Frugal Foodie Mama would have been a huge hit.  I think they might still be a huge hit for after school snacks for when the kids have their friends over to visit. Be sure to stop over to Frugal Foodie Mama for the recipe.

Five Easy Homemade Recipes

A couple of summer's ago, I had a homemade summer.  I used vegetables from my garden to make pickles and tomato sauce. .  I used strawberries we had picked at a local farm to make delicious jam  My son, who was doing Cooking with Kyle posts at the time, made us delicious meals with his homemade pizza and homemade potato salad.  Now is the perfect time to share some of these recipes again, now that it is time to harvest those gardens and hit the farmers markets.

Do you have a lot of cucumbers in your garden and want to give Homemade Pickles  a try?Two summers ago I found decided to make some using a simple recipe. We were very happy with the result.

Strawberry jam has always had special meaning to me.  While I was growing up my grandma made us several jars every summer..  She has been gone eleven years now.  Homemade Strawberry Jam was so good and tasted just like grandma's.

By the end of the summer, I always have a ton of tomatoes. My Homemade Tomato Sauce Recipe was when I made my own with fresh tomatoes.  It is not hard to make,  but does need some simmering time.

A couple of years ago my son did a series of recipes called Cooking with Kyle. One that we really liked was his Homemade Pizza.  It was very unique because each piece was totally different than the others just but the way he arranged his toppings.

Another recipe he made for us was his Homemade Egg Potato Salad. It was really good.  I wish I had some potatoes on hand so I could get him to make us some more.

What types of homemade recipes do you like to make?
