Dare to Share #475

It is Friday night, and you know what that means..
it is time to Dare to Share!

Happy 4th of July! Are you doing anything special this weekend?  We are having a watermelon themed birthday party (more posts on that  to come) and of course celebrating the 4th by watching fireworks.

It will be a very different from last year when I helped my best friend move out of her long time lake house home while watching the fireworks with just a couple of friends as we said goodbye to her home.

It was a beautiful, but bittersweet night.

While I was working on several things behind the scene this week ( a few days of babysitting, our children's play, crafts for the party)  I did put together a post with last minute 4th of July ideas you can do this weekend.

Well it looks like it is time to get this party started.. Link up and HAVE FUN!

Last minute 4th of July ideas you can do this weekend!

Happy 4th of July weekend!

I don't know about you, but it feels like the holiday snuck up on me. It know it is because I have been very busy the last few weeks.  School ended mid June, and then I immediately started watching my friends boys until the end of the month.  On top that the little girl in this picture had a birthday, and my boyfriends daughter did too.  I have been busy planning a watermelon themed party for this weekend.  If you are like me, the 4th has been an after thought, and now I want some last minute ideas on how to celebrate.  I looked back to some of my past posts over the years and I found a few of my favorites.

One of our favorite desserts for the holiday is this Quick and Easy 4th of July Pie. One year when I made this, we had guests staying at our house. It disappeared so fast that this was one of the few pictures I got of it.  This pie is so good you will want to make it again and again.

Using Dollar Tree garland we have made Quick and Easy Patriotic Wreaths. They are not only a lot of fun to make but cost only a couple of dollars.  (if you love Dollar Tree crafts you will want to follow me on Instagram) I have been sharing amazing Dollar Tree Crafts that I have been finding, and it seems a lot of people like it. :)  There are some really creative people out there.

You can make your own fireworks decorations with this Easy Fireworks Craft.   This one was fun to make, just make sure it doesn't get wet.

If you have colorful planters and red, white and blue plants, you can easily put together this Patriotic Planter.

Put some "pop" in your 4th with these Easy Pops. I remember my kids really liked helping me make the pops.

If you need any last minute 4th of July decor or party items, many Dollar Trees still have some available.  You can see some of what you might find in my post Summer Party Ideas - Patriotic

Hopefully you will be able to use a few of these quick and easy ideas, and have a wonderful 4th of July!

Dare to Sharer #474

It is Friday night, and you know what that means..
It is time to Dare to Share!

Whew, this Friday was a lot less eventful than it was last week.  It was another rainy day, but I did not have to travel, and my tire is still on my car. :) If you missed what happened last week, you can read about it here.

This past week, I had the chance to post several posts.   I shared several of the Prime Day Deals that I found.  While it is not longer Prime Day, you might still be interested in some of the cool party items and other  fun finds I shared.  You can see those posts below.

I also added to my Summer Party Ideas Series.  This week I added the supplies we found for a Watermelon Party.  We are actually having a watermelon party at the beginning of July. My daughter and my boyfriend's daughter are only 2 days apart.  I My daughter has had many themed parties over the years, and is planning for something a little later in the month.  My boyfriend's daughter has not had a birthday party in awhile so I took her to Dollar Tree to pick out supplies.  She loves watermelon (and many other kinds of fruit) so she really wanted to go that theme.  We found so many great supplies, and I have several party crafts and ideas  that I will be sharing with you over the next few weeks.

Well it looks to be about that time.. It's time to get the party started.. Link up and HAVE FUN!

Summer Party Ideas - Watermelon

Later this month both my daughter, and my boyfriend's daughter are having a birthday. Last weekend I asked my boyfriend's daughter if she would like to have a small birthday party.  She was excited about the idea.  Originally I thought we would go with the ice cream theme, but when I took her to the Dollar Tree, she fell in the love with the idea of a Watermelon Party.  The Dollar Tree still has a lot of their summer party supplies available, but not for too much longer.  In this post I am going to share what supplies that we found, and in a later post I will share more about the party.

** This post also contains affiliate links and I will be compensated if you make a purchase after clicking on my links.

Here are the supplies she picked out..

They had two different plate designs with the watermelon theme.   I love the look of the sliced watermelon (upper right) but the plates are on the small side. So also like the bigger square plates, so we got those too.  We can use the square plates for the food, and the slice plates for side dishes or dessert.  The triangle slices are the napkins.

We also picked out two different types of table coverings.  The bigger one has the watermelon slices and other fruit, and a smaller, round pink one.  I am not sure if we will use the pink one, but we planning to have the party outside so we can probably find some sort of use for it.

She loved the round watermelon bowl. Most likely we are going to use it to serve, you guessed it, watermelon. I could only find two of the glasses (that are actually plastic)   I think I might use those as a centerpiece or in some decorative way.

She really wanted to the paper lanterns.  We went ahead and got all three colors available because they match the colors of our plates and table covering.

They had cute themed decor as well. I am not sure what we are going to do with these items yet, but I am sure we will decide on something.

We found a few other random items that matched our theme.  I am going to put the watermelon candy in a themed gift basket for her. She loves the flowers on the extra package of napkins. They also matched out color scheme.  When I saw the inside of the Tropical Party coloring book I HAD TO HAVE IT.  It is seriously one of the cutest coloring books I have ever seen.

They have pictures of fruit, and adorable animals doing all kind of summer activities. Have you ever seen a slice of watermelon hanging out on the beach eating a piece of watermelon?  I know I haven't.

Or how about a sloth mermaid?  I know that does not match our theme, but I had to share the cuteness.

Now that we have most of our supplies, it is time to plan our menu, and how we plan to decorate.  Stay tuned for more on our watermelon party.

Remember if you are planning a party, and not able to find the supplies you want in store, they have an entire party supply section where you can buy online and ship free to the store!  Check online often, because seasonal themes are only available for a limited time.    They also have videos with party ideas and inspiration on the Dollar Tree website. Be sure to check it out.

Dare to Share #473

It is Friday night, and you know what that means..
It is time to Dare to Share!

Whew!! What a day! Today is one of those days where there was a lot of chaos, but you are grateful that everything turned out okay in the end.   This morning I woke up to pouring rain.  I had to be to my babysitting job pretty early, and I had to pack my car to go to Ohio right after I finished sitting.  I did get a little wet loading up the car, but thankfully it was not that bad.  Then I drove to work.  The day went pretty well, but just was getting ready to head out on my trip, my boyfriend called to tell me there were tornados near where I would be driving, so I needed to be careful  It was nice where I was, and the radar showed that the storm would pass before I got to that area, so we decided it was okay for me to start driving.  Everything was fine for the first hour.  Just a few miles from the Ohio border, my car started making a very loud noise. It sounded like my tire was flat, even though I knew it was wasn't.  I thought it might be the roads causing the noise, but then it continued to get worse as I crossed into Ohio where they have better roads.   I went a few more miles but my car was starting to shake, and I did not feel safe on the highway anymore.   I got off at the nearest exit, and found a safe parking lot to park and call my boyfriend.  He was two hours away from where I was.  Since I did not feel safe driving anymore, he drove the two hours to come check my car.  There was a nearby Target and Dollar Tree, so I did have somewhere to go while I waited.   It was just started to get dark when he arrived.  He checked out my car, and found it was a really good thing that I had pulled over.  My front tire was loose, and would have fallen off at some point on the highway.  I am very lucky that didn't happen.  Once he tightened the bolts the noise had stopped, and my car was running fine again. I normally do not drive the entire way, but park at a midway point where he normally meets me. We parked my car there, and took only one car the rest of the way.   We continued to head toward his house when we saw more really big storms overhead.   Thankfully he was driving at this point, because it was raining so hard we could barely see.  After awhile the skies cleared, and we made it safely to his house around 1 am.  Had my drive been uneventful I would have been here four hours early.  So here I am at 1:37 writing this post.

Did you see my other post from this week? The Dollar Tree is started to put their new fall items on their website.  Many of the new items will be must haves for the fall.  You can see what will be available or order early online here, before they begin to arrive in the stores.

Well it is super late and we have a busy day planned tomorrow, so I am going to get this party started..

Brand New Fall/Autumn Dollar Tree Finds (see before they arrive in stores)

As you know the Dollar Tree is my favorite place to shop for so many reasons.  One of those reasons is the great deals you can get on party items and decor  for only $1.   One of my favorite times of the year to shop the Dollar Tree is in the fall and holiday seasons.   The Dollar Tree tends to start putting items out a few months in advance, and does three waves.  Currently we are in the last wave of summer and 4th of July season, but in early to mid July you will start to see the early wave of the fall and autumn items.  Fall floral has already arrived in many store.

** This post also contains affiliate links and I will be compensated if you make a purchase after clicking on my links.

Some of the early fall and autumn items are already available online. If you are a crafter or want to guarantee to find one of the must have items, ordering  online may be the way to go.  I have ordered a few times online, and both times I was very happy with how easy it was.  Another bonus, many items can be shipped free to you local store.

Here are some of my favorite new finds..

How adorable are these Crafters Square mini truck ornaments.  They are perfect for fall crafting or an year round Christmas Tree.  They come in a 4 ct pack. If you would like to order them now, instead of waiting until they arrive in the store, you must order a  case. Since they are small in size, they come in a case of 48.  You can check more information about  them out here.

I LOVE these horizontal harvest signs. I plan on getting all of them, but I especially love the Thankful & Blessed red truck sign.  If you buy these online they come in a case of 24.  You can find more about them here.

These metal hanging harvest pumpkin signs come in a case of 36. I love the new colors and plaid pattern they have added this year. You can find more info about them here.

Oh wow! I will definitely be picking up some vertical hanging harvest signs.  They are just shy of 2 feet long.  These are available in a case of 24.  You can see more information about these gorgeous signs here.

How cute is this little guy?!  I think he is adorable! He is available online now in a case of 24.  You can see him up close here.

I am also definitely going to pick up some of these long harvest handing signs.  Which is your favorite?  I can't decide between the Welcome sign and the one with all the fall activities.  They come in a case of 24. The info on these signs can be found here.

I am also loving these plaid pumpkin shaped wall decor.  It looks like plaid will be a fad for a bit longer.  They come in a case of 24.  If you want to see more info on these, you can find it here.

The fall craft supplies are starting to appear online as well.  While I did not see anything brand new this year, they did have a lot of great supplies available. If you missed on out on the 3D pumpkin wreath form, it is available now.  You can see all of the fall craft supplies currently listed here.

Dare to Share #472

It is Friday night, and you know what that means..
It is time to Dare to Share!

Well we made it!  School is now officially out for the summer.  My last day was yesterday, and then this morning I met with the other building subs for breakfast at a local restaurant.  I just got one of their basic breakfast deals, which  is supposed to have 4 pieces of bacon.  I think I had about 8.  LOL!!  For the next few weeks, I will be watching my friends sons, and have we have a lot of fun planned.

I don't know about where you live, but where we live we are having a heat wave. Its been around 90 every day for a week.  Since it has been so warm, I shared a post about ways to have Backyard Water Fun.  A few years ago, my daughter and one of her friends tried out several homemade water toys.  They had a blast, and they were all inexpensive and easy to make.  What are temps like where you live?

Well it looks like it is time to get this party started.   Link up and HAVE FUN!!
