Last minute 4th of July ideas you can do this weekend!

Happy 4th of July weekend!

I don't know about you, but it feels like the holiday snuck up on me. It know it is because I have been very busy the last few weeks.  School ended mid June, and then I immediately started watching my friends boys until the end of the month.  On top that the little girl in this picture had a birthday, and my boyfriends daughter did too.  I have been busy planning a watermelon themed party for this weekend.  If you are like me, the 4th has been an after thought, and now I want some last minute ideas on how to celebrate.  I looked back to some of my past posts over the years and I found a few of my favorites.

One of our favorite desserts for the holiday is this Quick and Easy 4th of July Pie. One year when I made this, we had guests staying at our house. It disappeared so fast that this was one of the few pictures I got of it.  This pie is so good you will want to make it again and again.

Using Dollar Tree garland we have made Quick and Easy Patriotic Wreaths. They are not only a lot of fun to make but cost only a couple of dollars.  (if you love Dollar Tree crafts you will want to follow me on Instagram) I have been sharing amazing Dollar Tree Crafts that I have been finding, and it seems a lot of people like it. :)  There are some really creative people out there.

You can make your own fireworks decorations with this Easy Fireworks Craft.   This one was fun to make, just make sure it doesn't get wet.

If you have colorful planters and red, white and blue plants, you can easily put together this Patriotic Planter.

Put some "pop" in your 4th with these Easy Pops. I remember my kids really liked helping me make the pops.

If you need any last minute 4th of July decor or party items, many Dollar Trees still have some available.  You can see some of what you might find in my post Summer Party Ideas - Patriotic

Hopefully you will be able to use a few of these quick and easy ideas, and have a wonderful 4th of July!

Homemade Ice Cream - Feature of the Day

Just one more day, are you ready for the holiday?  One of the treats that you think about for  the 4th of July is ice cream.  Pounds 4 Pennies  shared a great way to make homemade ice cream without an ice cream maker.  All you need is a few ingredients, and about 6-7 hours.  You can make some in the morning, and it will be ready by dinner time.  Be sure to stop over at Pounds 4 Pennies to see how to make your own homemade ice cream.  Thanks so much Amy for linking up to Dare to Share!

4th of July Strawberry Pie

When I was going  through my old posts looking for 4th of July ideas, I came across one of my favorite desserts. (I can't believe I didn't post this sooner!)  This is a red, white and blue, easy to make strawberry pie that is a great for bbqs, picnics or just because.  When I made this for 4th of July two years ago, the entire pie disappeared quickly because the kids loved it so much.  You can see the full recipe here. I think I am going to have to make one for tomorrows cookout.
