Dare to Share #508

It is Friday night, and you know what that means..
It is time to Dare to Share!

Can you believe it is the end of February?  This month flew by.  In this past month we had more than one snow storm, and several snow days.  We had another one last night, but instead of having our 3rd Friday off for snow this month, we still had to go to school.  The roads were a mess, but cleared up quite a bit while we were at school.

I don't have a new blog post to share this week, but I did add a new listing to my Etsy shop.

In the next week or so, I hope to get a few more St. Patrick's Day listing up.  These lucky leprechaun gnomes we pretty fun to make. I don't know what it is about gnomes, but they make me happy.

My boyfriend and I just got back from the dance, and it is later than normal because we had to take a detour about 15 miles out of our way on the way home.   Since it is so late, I want to get this party started asap..   So now it is time for me to say..

Dare to Share #507

It is Friday night, and you know what that means..
It is time to Dare to Share!

Well I'm sure everyone knows by now, my Cincinnati Bengals did not win the Super Bowl. :(  It was a good game though, and it was a very close game all the way to the end.  I know with as well as we did this year, we will be back again. We have a young team that will just keep getting better and better.  :)

This was another busy week at school.  We had Valentine's Day, a full moon, a bad snow/ice storm, and not enough subs to cover all the classrooms.  Yesterday during school hours it rained all day and then all the water turned into sheet of ice, while school was still in session. About 2 pm, the snow began to fall as well. When it was time to leave, my car was encased in ice and the drive home was not fun at all. The snow continued throughout the rest of the day, and into the night.  We found out that school was cancelled Thursday evening, and woke up to 6 inches of snow today.  After the craziness of earlier in the week, it is nice to have a long weekend.

Hopefully next week will be a little less eventful, and I can write a new blog post.

Well it is now time to get this party started, so link up and HAVE FUN!!

Dare to Share #506

It is Friday night, and you know what that means..
It is time to Dare to Share!

What a difference a week makes.  Last week I was super productive online.  I wrote several blog posts.  This week we were back to school, and I didn't have the chance to write a post at all.  I was filling in for the para who has one of our more difficult students.  This student definitely keeps us on our toes, and it makes for a long day.  I was also busy catching up with my tutor students, and working a little bit in my Etsy Shop.  It's Valentine's Day week so I wanted to update a few of my listings.   Tonight I finally got to see my boyfriend again, after having skip last weekend between the snowstorm, my cold and his work schedule.   We are going to celebrate Valentine's Day, and hopefully see our Bengals win the Super Bowl.

Do you have any big plans this weekend?

Our drive home from the dance tonight took a little bit longer than normal because we had some ice and snow making the roads a bit slick.   Since it is getting late, I better get this party started.

Dare to Share #505

It's Friday night, and you know what that means..
It is time to Dare to Share!

Well it's been another busy week!  I know I say that every week, but this time it's for different reasons.  Monday and Tuesday were pretty normal. We had school like normal. On Tuesday is was sunny and in the 40s.  That was unfortunately the calm before the storm.  The actual storm.  Starting very early Wednesday morning the snow started and didn't stop until we had a foot of snow on the ground and several snow days in a row.  It felt so bizarre staying home the last few days. The roads were just too bad to go anywhere, so I cancelled me two tutoring appointments.  We did unbury my car Wednesday afternoon because my daughter had to go check on a dog she watches, but that was the only place we went.  The roads were awful!  Being home not going anywhere, feels reminiscent of the first few days of the Covid shut down, but less stressful because this time I know it really is just for a few days.  I have caught up on my sleep, and had time to write a few blog posts and work on my Etsy shop.   The roads should now be clear, so I "might" venture out tomorrow.

Last weekend I shared the post Celebrating the Chinese New Year.  While I do not celebrate it on a regular basis, we did enjoy Chinese food and are very excited that it is the Year of the Tiger. (Go Bengals!)

Mid week, while having our first snow day of the year so far, I shared my post How to celebrate a SNOW DAY. I shared some of the fun activities we used to do on snow days, and lots of snow themed recipes.

Earlier today I posted How to host a Super Bowl Party.  My Bengals are going to the big game for the first time in 33 years. I am definitely invested in the outcome of the game this year.  In my post I shared some decoration ideas and lots of great party recipes.

On my Etsy shop Dancing Unicorn by Pam,  I have several printable classroom Valentines and treat bag toppers, and will be listing Love Coupons this weekend.

Were you affected by the massive storm this week.  Let  me know is the comments below.

Well it looks like it is time to get the party started.  Link up and HAVE FUN!

How to host a SUPER BOWL party

    Super Bowl Party Pack

* I am a long time affiliate for Oriental Trading Company some of the links in this post are affiliate links.

Are you ready for some football?  I know I am!  I have been a life long Bengals fan, and it is so EXCITING to see them finally going back to the Super Bowl for the first time in 33 years!

33 years is a very long time!

The last time the Bengals went to the Super Bowl, I was a single college student watching the big game in my dorm room with friends.  I am now a mother of three adult children, and the age of many grandmothers.  Back in the day, I had a huge crush on the quarterback of the Bengals, Boomer Easiason.  I even named my cat after him back in 1990.  l now have a crush on Joe Burrows. He is the age of my oldest child, but I love how he has lead our team for the worst in the league to the Super Bowl in only two years.  So this year, I will definitely be invested in the outcome of the Super Bowl.

We have had a few Super Bowl parties over the years, and one of my favorite items to put out is the Inflatable Buffet Cooler from Oriental Trading.  It is huge, and can be used in a variety of ways. We used it to hold all of the snack containers, but it can be filled with ice to keep your drinks and cold foods cold.

It's not too late to find Super Bowl decorations like this Super Bowl LVI tablecloth, or the entire party pack link under the picture at the top of this post.

Another option is this tableware set, that includes everything pictured.

Or if you prefer to decorate and use your favorite teams decor, they have team tailgating packs. Who Dey!

This football stadium backdrop  would be great for a photo booth for your guests.

We have used Oriental Trading partyware at our parties as well, like these football themed chili bowls.  They are the perfect size for not only chili but also appetizers like meatballs or dip.

Another decoration that I have used at multiple parties are these hanging football paper lanterns.

For a limited time, Oriental Trading has FREE shipping
use CE224573 at check out.  You will also receive a $10 Ecard if you make a purchase through  midnight Tuesday Feb 8th.

Once you have your decorations figured out, it is time for everyone's favorite part of a Super Bowl party and that is the FOOD.   Here are the recipes to what I like to serve at our parties.

The warm ham and cheese sliders,  the cheesy bacon tator tot skewers and the party meatballs and call be found at this link here.

Now it is time to enjoy the party, spend time with friends, and HAVE FUN!

How to celebrate a SNOW DAY

Today I am having my first snow day off from school this winter.  I live in an area that receives a pretty good amount of snow each year, but this year we have been way under our usual totals .  Meanwhile in areas that are south and east of us, have gotten way more than their share.

Based on the national weather map, there are MILLIONS of kids who are celebrating having at least one snow day this week.  Ten years ago almost to the day, I shared the Snow Day party that I threw for my kids here on the blog.  All of the ideas, and treats are still perfect for today, so I am sharing them again.

In the picture at the top of the page, we built a snowman using styrofoam balls, pipe cleaners, google eyes, and scrap fabric.

My daughter and I made the drinking cups but drawing snowman faces and names on them.

I covered the table with white craft paper and gave the kids cups of crayons to draw winter themed pictures.

We cut up printer paper into several snowflake designs that we could hang up.

We had a create a snowman station out of marshmallows, donuts, pretzels, candy and food writers.

Here is just one of the yummy finished treats.

Our food was entirely snow related as well.  Most of the ingredients I already had on hand.

We made snowman pretzel rods by dipping them in white chocolate and adding mini chocolate chips and gummy candy.  The bears are sledding on Nilla wafers in vanilla pudding bowls.

The snowmen pizzas were made with English muffins and mozzarella cheese.  The faces are black olive slices and piece or orange pepper.

Slice bananas, mini chocolate chips were easily put together as snowmen on a stick.

To warm up after playing in the snow we enjoyed hot chocolate with lots of mini marshmallows. Yum!

Over the years I have had a few other snow themed posts that were not included in the original party, but would be a good addition to your snow day celebration.

Happy Snow Day and STAY SAFE!
