Leprechaun Bread

                                                       Leprechaun Bread

Last year at a girl scout meeting we learned about Fairy Bread.   Fairy Bread is a much loved treat at birthday parties in Australia.    The treat itself is actually very simple. It is a  piece of buttered  bread with the crust removed, covered with a ton of sprinkles.  It is then cut into triangles and served to happy children.  Since Leprechauns are mysterious creatures like the Fairies,  wouldn't it make sense that they would want to serve Leprechaun bread at their St. Patrick's Day get-togethers?

To make Leprechaun Bread, I used only the green sprinkles from a container of red and green Christmas sprinkles.

I just bought some Easter sugar sprinkles at Target this weekend. I decided to try the yellow sugar, and I love the effect. Doesn't it look like little pieces of gold hidden among the green sprinkles?

I added a few larger yellow sprinkles to give it a pop of color. A super easy and fun treat for St. Patrick's Day.
