Mermaid Party Ideas

As you know from my post Amazing New Shore Finds from the Dollar Tree that I posted recently,  that I am very excited about the Dollar Trees new Shore Living line that was just released.

Well I am happy to say many of the shore items have arrived in many Dollar Trees in the last week.   While looking around the store this past week, I saw that there were many mermaid themed items throughout the store that would be great to use for a Mermaid Themed party.  My best friend loves mermaids, so I while I have not thrown a mermaid party yet, I possibly will in the very near future.

I am definitely giving my friend this Mermaid Cabana House as a gift for her birthday.  I have not seen anything like it before, and if I said An Unicorn Lives Here, I know she would buy it for me.   This would be great as decor, on a tiered tray or as part of a centerpiece.

It is kind of hard to see the shell serving tray, but it is quite pretty in person.   It would be quite memorable to use these as party serving plates.

You can leave the mermaid's plain or paint and decorate them. I have seen several different ways to paint them over on Instagram.

These mermaid tails come three to a pack.  I could see using them as party decor or given as a party favor.

The party plates, banner, and mermaid tail balloons are regular products in the party aisle.  Be sure to check there often because they get new products frequently.

These cups would be great to give as a favor, or used as drinking cups.  They are part of the Shore Living line, so if you want them you will need to get them soon.  They come is two shapes, a mermaid's tail and a clamshell.

I loved these stencils.  While I am not sure what I am going to use them for yet,  I am glad to have them in my craft supplies for when  I do think of something.

This mermaid tail stay magical picture box is pretty cute.  It is also part of my friend's birthday present.

In the toy aisle, I found these glowing trident. They will be fun as decor or party favors.

While you might not be able to get the clam shell Easter eggs anymore, they are a great find for a future party.  Dollar Tree has had these in stock the last couple of years, so they may be back again next year.

In addition to all the mermaid themed finds I found at the Dollar Tree, here are some more affordable mermaid party finds.

My kids always liked to have a pinata at their parties.  This Sparkle Mermaid Tail is from Oriental Trading.

The necklaces and keychains would make great favors, and while they come in 12 packs, they are about $1 each.

At all of our parties, I set up a photo booth of some kind.  Party guests can turn themselves into mermaid with this cardboard stand up.

I have two other ideas for a party prop backdrop.  One is using plastic table clothes in different colors. such as a couple of blues hanging along a wall. You can see our rainbow back drop in this post Art Themed Slumber Party

And life size (well human life size) dinosaurs cardboard cut outs I created in this post Boy Party Ideas

You get 52 feet of this garland on Amazon. It makes such a pretty back drop.

Some more goody bag ideas from Amazon.

Hopefully these ideas give you some inspiration.

Dare to Share #515

It is Friday night, and you know what that means..
It is time to Dare to Share!

Happy Easter weekend! Do you have any special plans? I am in Ohio celebrating with my boyfriend and his family.  While the kids are too old for an egg hunt, we still plan on doing Easter baskets and coloring eggs this weekend. I am also looking forward  to making them a special Easter dinner.

I recently posted that I was really excited about the new Shore Collection that was coming to the Dollar Tree.  I am happy to say that it has now started arriving in stores this week.  Several of the items did come home with me.  I have been posting a lot of the pictures and reels over on my Instagram if you would like to see them.

This is one of my favorite signs. Not only is it really cute, but it's really good quality.    I am in the process of writing a post about all the mermaid items I found around the store, and ideas on how to have a mermaid party.  It should be up on the blog  shortly.

I decided to share some of my past Easter posts, since I was not able to get a new post posted this week (we had state mandated testing at school all week)  This post is Easter Basket Ideas Dollar Tree Style. It was the Easter basket I gave my daughter last year. I got the basket and everything in it from the Dollar Tree.

If you have not colored your Easter Eggs yet, in the post Fun Easter Egg Coloring Ideas I share some of the techniques we used to make some unusual, but pretty looking eggs.

If you need some last minute ideas like our favorite holiday breakfast, Make Ahead French Toast, then you will want to check out the post Last Minute Easter Ideas

If you need any last minute Easter tags, I have several different versions in my Etsy Shop

Well it is getting to be that time again, time to get the party started.  Link up and HAVE FUN!

Dare to Share #514

It is Friday night, and you know what that means..
It is time to Dare to Share!

Happy Friday! I hope you had a good week. We were back at school this week after a long spring break.  As an adjustment week easing back into our school schedule, it actually was a pretty good week.   I taught in some of my favorite classrooms and today, we had an assembly called Artrageous. They cast sings, and dances while also painting some really cool paintings. (you can see more about them on YouTube)  Next week is state mandated testing again, so we will have to see how that goes.

I did write a new post this week. On Instagram I had someone ask me if I had any ideas for a tea party.  While it is has been a long time since I have been able to plan an actual party, her question got me thinking, why not come up with some new ideas and share them on all three of my platforms.  While at the Dollar Tree this week, I found a lot of items that could be used for a tea party.  I shared the pics on Instagram.  I then wrote the blog post, Ideas to Throw a Tea Party on a Budget.  I am also working on some Tea Party party items to list on my Etsy Shop.  I have a long list of party ideas that I am working on, and I am really excited to work on them full time once school is out this summer.

I did list a few new items in my shop for Mothers Day.

Well it is getting to be pretty late so let's get this party started.  Link up and HAVE FUN!

Ideas On How to Throw Tea Party On A Budget

Someone I recently met on Instagram asked me if I had any ideas for a Tea Party.  She was planning a tea party for her young child.  If you have been a long time reader on my blog, you know I happen to specialize in planning themed children's parties on a budget.  You can see just some of the parties I have planned for my kids on my party page here.

** This post also contains affiliate links and I will be compensated if you make a purchase after clicking on my links

One of my favorite places to shop for party items is the Dollar Tree.  I found many items in store that would be perfect for a tea party on a budget.

I am loving all the spring flowers right now, all of which would make pretty bouquets, decorations, and centerpieces. (I have shared several easy centerpiece ideas made from DT items in my Instagram feed)

In addition to basic round and rectangle tablecloths, Dollar Tree now has table skirts. These are way more than $1.25 at other stores.

A fun way to dress up the tables, or even to play dress up are these colorful scarves.  I found them in the aisle with the shampoos and bath items.  They are brand name and nice quality.

If you would like doilies for your party, Dollar has them in multiple sizes.

A cute centerpieces is this pretty pink teapot by Oriental Trading.

Another fun addition is this tea pot pinata

And how adorable are these tea party photo props

When my oldest attended a friend's birthday tea party, the girls dressed up in party dresses and brought their favorite doll or teddy bear. Once at the party they had lot of hats, purses, scarves and beads to dress up in. All of which can be found at the Dollar Tree. You can see all of the ladies straw hats here

I found this mini tea pot set in the toy aisle.  While a bit on the small side, it would be cute to give out as a party favor, our used in the decor in some way.

Depending on the age of the guests there are a few choices on how to serve your tea.  You can find pretty tea cups at the local thrift shop, or serve more basic ones like these.

I found pretty ribbons in several colors, and even glitter and wooden butterflies.  They could be used as decorations or maybe for the guests to create a craft.

These spring flower and tassel garland and large tissue paper ball would be pretty to hang around your party.

How about some goodie bag ideas.  When I throw a party, I really like giving items that my party guest can use.  These flower containers filled with treats or trinkets like the necklaces, crown, or cupcake squishy would be  memorable parting gifts.

It looks like I will have to break up this post or it will be a mile long.

I will be sharing tea party food and treat ideas very soon. Also be sure to stop by my Etsy Shop for seasonal and party printables.

Dare to Share #513

It's Friday night, and you know what that means..
it is time to Dare to Share!

This week was my Spring Break.  Unfortunately I was not able to go anywhere warm this week.  It was cold and rainy, and I was still busy working.  While I had a break from school, I was busy sorting and packing for me upcoming move, and also working in my Etsy shop.  I feel like we got a decent amount accomplished, but it would have been more had I not tweeked my back early in the week. You do not realize how much you have to move while packing, until your body tells you that it hurts when you move a certain way.  While I am still a little sore, I am starting to feel better.

I did have the chance to share a blog post this week.  The Dollar Tree has released an amazing Shore Collection on their website.  Hopefully this means will be seeing some of these products in the stores in the upcoming months as well.  I have not been as excited about a collection as I have about this one. It brings me back to the summer of 2020 when I went one of my favorite vacations ever around the coast of lower and upper Michigan.  You can see what I am talking in my post Amazing New Shore Finds From The Dollar Tree.

I have added several new listing for Easter to my Etsy shop. If you are interested in checking them out, you can see my shop here.

I do have a question that I would like to ask here. I am in the process of planning some party bundles for my shop.  I am keeping of lists of that party themes I want to create.  Does anyone have a party theme ideas that would like to see?

Well it is getting to be about that time. It is time to get this party started.  Link Up and HAVE FUN!
