Happy Holidays!
I'm sorry I flaked on the Dare to Share Party this past Friday. I have been so busy I forgot what day it was, and realized I missed the party on Sunday. 🤦 Since it was already a few days late, I figured we would just skip last week and I would post one this upcoming Friday.
When I was visiting my family and friends in Michigan, I visited the holiday alley in Howell. It is always decorated in a different theme by the store owners. There had just been a big snowfall, which made it look even more festive.
We also attended an 80th birthday for someone close to us.
During the week, we had the grand baby over a few times. I did try the viral wrapping paper photo shoot with her. I do have a few keeper photos, but she was not really sure what thought about the paper and kept ripping it. She wanted a picture of Snowy the snowmand while she wandered off to play.
Her gingerbread play house has been a huge hit this year. She loves it. She wasn't sure what she thought of it at first, but now she goes right in and brings out her gingerbread toys.
This past Friday was my holiday party at work. Each one of us picked a color. We wore PJs in the color we chose, and also brought snacks in that color. My color was pink. I brought pink chocolate covered popcorn, pink wafter cookies, pink Sour Patch kids, and pink strawberry lemonade. It was a lot of fun, and there was way more food and sweets than we could even think to eat.
This past Saturday we had a family Christmas party with D's family. We played a few games, and had a lot of holiday food. Each year Santa visits, and gives gifts to the kids in attendance.
On the way home from the party, we stopped to see the Christmas house. It is known for it's blow molds and festive lights. It is really neat to see in person. We will definitely go see it again.
While there I met Santa. I asked him if I could take a picture with him, so I could show my grand baby that I have met him in person. He said definitely, and then gave me a cool coin to give to her from him.
On Sunday we went Christmas shopping, and then to Winterfest at Kings Island. I love all the lights at Winterfest. I wish I had these gingerbread characters for my own house since I decorate in a gingerbread theme. It was a lot colder than we thought it was going to be, but it was still fun!
Now we are just two days from Christmas, and still have so much to do. I probably should eat some lunch, and start wrapping presents, because I have not even started yet.
I want to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas!
