It is Friday night, and you know what that means..

I know the last few weeks, I have mentioned weather in my posts. Well this week we had another crazy week of weather that is worth mentioning.  Early in the week, we were warm in in the 40s and 50s. Everything was muddy and wet because 8 inches of snow melted very quickly. On Tuesday night temps dropped, and an ice/freezing rain storm covered most of the state.  We woke up Wednesday morning to hundreds of schools closed across the state,  because everything was covered in ice. Thursday it warmed back up again to a record high of 58, but unfortunately that did not last long. Do you know what we woke up to today??  Wind chills below zero! It has been freezing all day long, and I think it might have possibly made it a 20 degrees. Is anyone else tired of the crazy winter weather and ready for Spring?

It is Friday night, and you know what that means.. 

It is time to Dare to Share! 

What a week! I live in the middle of the Polar Vortex area of the country.  You know last week when I mentioned that we had two days off of school for ice, well this week we had four days off because of the COLD.. BRR..  Wednesday was the coldest of the days at -40+ with windchill.  Today was our first day back to school since last Friday.  At 20 degrees, today felt like a heatwave.  The craziest thing about our weather is they are expecting it to be 50 degrees on Monday. If it happens, that is a 90 degree temperature change in just a few days.  We are definitely looking forward the the spring like weather after this week.  

It is also Super Bowl weekend.. While my main team (Bengals) really had a hard year, my second favorite pro team (Patriots) are in the big game.  I have to admit, I was not really a fan of them until this year.  I have grown to like them because of a person in my life who is a HUGE fan.  When they win, he is happy, so I like it when they win.  :)  Also being a certain age, I love that Tom Brady is still at the top of his game at an "old age" for football.  It shows you can still be amazing at any age.

Brrrr!!  I don't know about you but I am currently freezing right now.  We had a few days off of school for ice, and are predicted to have a few more next week when we have double digit negative wind chills.  How cold is it where you live.  It is times like this I wish I lived in a warmer area.

It is Saturday morning, and you know what the means..

It is time to Dare to Share! 

Sorry for the delay in the party this week. If you live in the mid west or the east coast you might have heard about the snow storm we are currently having here. Last night I was visiting a friend who lives 40 minutes away, and out in the country. It is hard to see where you are going at night, on a good weather day. The timing of the snow, made late night early morning driving treacherous, so I waited it out at their house until the I could make the drive at a safer time. The party may be about 12 hours late to get started, but I am home safe and sound.

Tonight I went with my friend to see Mary Poppins Returns. I thought it was good, but a bit on the long side. The best scene did not happen until almost the very end of the movie.  There are several movies that came out in the last week that I would like to go see.  Have you seen any recent movies, and what did you think of them?

Little update on my Christmas tree from our question last week.  I was able to put the tree up on Sunday. However, it is still without lights and ornaments.  I am still looking for them.  I thought they were in the storage unit, they are not. I am sure they are buried in a closet somewhere. Oh well, they will get up eventually.  LOL!  

Today's question is how are you doing with your Christmas shopping? Are you finished, half way done, or still have a long list?   I am a slacker in this department too this year.  I still have to do 99% of my shopping.

Hey there party goers, this time I am actually writing this post early.   For those who were following along last week, my beloved Buckeyes won big over their biggest rival Michigan. If you are wondering what TTUN means in the comments, it is one of the many things we use when referring to U of M.. It stands for That Team Up North.. This weekend we will now have to play Northwestern on Saturday night, to become the outright Big 10 champion. (who actually has 14 teams now). 

My question for this week.. Do you have your Christmas tree up yet?  I do not, but I am going to help a friend get hers up tonight. My daughter needs to pick up some of her things, before we put ours up. Hopefully everything will be done this weekend.

It is time to Dare to Share! 

This weekend I am going to be having a "Friendsgiving" with a few of my friends.  We also like to call it Orphan Thanksgiving.  My best friend and I have been doing this for a few of the holidays.. Thanksgiving, Easter and occasionally Christmas.  Both of us have family that lives too far away to see very often.  We have been friends for a long time, and our kids grew up together so they are likes siblings/cousins. I call her my big sister, so we feel like we are family.  She also has a job where she has often has to work on the actual holiday, so we celebrate a few days early. This year we invited a few new people to Friendsgiving, which will make the day even more fun.  Do you have an unusual holiday tradition that you like to do?

It is Saturday morning, and you know what that means. 

It is time to Dare to Share!! 

I am sorry I am a bit late getting the party up and live this weekend, but I have a good reason.  I got stuck in a snowstorm last night.  I went to the Friday night dance with a friend.  When we left the weather was just a little rainy, but not that bad. We had a really nice time at the dance.  Since my friend was busy meeting new people, and we had to leave early the last time went, I allowed my friend to decide when it was time to leave.  Umm.. that might not have been the best decision.  What we did not realize was that while we were inside having fun, outside it was snowing, snowing A LOT.  There were a couple of inches already on the ground. It was very windy so the snow was blowing hard.  The roads had not yet been plowed or even salted.  You could not see the lines of the lanes, and they were very slick.  Instead of taking only 45 minutes to get home like usual, it took an hour and 45 minutes.  I got home just a little bit before 2 am, and was exhausted.  I had planned on getting up a bit earlier to post, but I guess I needed the sleep.. 

In other news it is a big day in FOOTBALL at my house.  My Buckeyes are playing Michigan State (one of our bigger rivals) and Penn State (a special friend's favorite team) is playing Wisconsin at the SAME TIME!  It is very important that OSU wins this game to stay in hunt for the Big Ten Championship!  

I better get this party started so I can watch two games at the same time.. LOL!
