Inside Out Purple Potato Salad - Feature of the Day

Inside Out Purple Potato Salad

Have you seen Inside Out yet?  I saw it on Sunday with a good friend and our kids. We all loved it!  If you haven't seen it yet, you really should.  I love this idea of an Inside Out Progressive Dinner  that Cute As A Fox had with some of her blogging friends.  Each blogger had a different emotion to feature in a recipe. Ashley had Fear, and made this awesome looking Italian Style Purple Potato Salad.  It also looks like it would be a great salad for the 4th of July.  Be sure to stop over on Cute As A Fox to see all of the Inside Out Progressive Dinner recipes.
Thanks so much Ashley for link up this great idea to Dare to Share!

Dare to Share #169

It is Friday night, and you know what that means..
It is time to Dare to Share!

Whew, we made it through another week.  The garage sale was a success. We were very busy the first two days, but not so much on the last. There was just too much going on with graduation parties, sport tournaments, and Father's Day.  Some of the items that I thought would go didn't, but we did sell quite a bit of things we did not need.  Now we just have to make it through the next few weeks and the move.

Hopefully you have been able to enjoy the great summer weather these past few weeks.  I shared Summer Water Fun and Inspiration on Wednesday.  It is a round up of some of my favorite water themed posts from the last few years.

Today I shared Banana Split Pudding Parfaits to celebrate the #NationalChocolatePuddingDay.  These were so yummy!  They immediately disappeared!

Have you seen Inside Out yet? I have not had the chance yet, but I hope to soon.  My co-host Kim from Kandy Kreations shared these free party printables if you are thinking of having  an Inside Out party.  Be sure to stop over and see all the fun ideas she has on her blog thsi week.

With my limited computer time in the upcoming weeks, I will be going to back to single features for the time being. Starting this weekend, you will be seeing features from the last few parties and the one from tonight..

Now it is time for this week's party.  You are welcome to link up anything that you would like to share. If you are chosen as a Dare to Share Feature of the Day your post will be features on the blog and social media. Kim also chooses features from the party to feature on her blog and social media.

Banana Split Pudding Parfaits - #SummerofPudding

Did you know that June 26 is the National Chocolate Pudding Day, and it kicks of the Summer of Pudding.    I LOVE pudding, so am I very happy that it gets it's own special day.

Kozy Shack Chocolate Pudding  is one of my favorite treats any time of the year, but I thought it might be fun to turn it into a summer treat with some of my favorite toppings. There are times when I love a good banana split, but they are big and full of calories. Instead of using ice cream, I made these Banana Split Pudding Parfaits with Kozy Shack pudding, whipped topping, bananas, and strawberries.  I have to say they were so good, and tasted just like a banana split. I think we now have our new go to dessert of the summer.

It is actually pretty easy to make a Banana Split Pudding Parfait. I started with a layer of pudding, and  then a layer of whipped topping. I sliced up a banana, and put several pieces in each of the small mason jars.  I then layered some more chocolate pudding, whipped topping, and strawberry slices.

I topped the strawberries with another layer of pudding, and a small dollop of whipped topping. We then took our Banana Split Pudding Parfaits outside to enjoy the beautiful summer evening.

Every single one of the parfaits disappeared in a matter of a couple of minutes   We will definitely need to make more.

I feel good serving these to my family because Kozy Shack® Chocolate Pudding is made with simple, wholesome ingredients, so it’s simply delicious. It is the only premium pudding made with simple, wholesome ingredients like milk, eggs, sugar and rice. Kozy Shack® Chocolate pudding is rich and chocolatey, made with real cocoa. It tastes so good with fruit, that not only did they get a tasty treat, but they happily ate some of their daily fruit servings and wanted more.

Summer Water Fun and Inspiration

I am still very busy during this crazy month. While I wish I could be out relaxing by some water, I currently packing for our move.  I thought it might be fun though to share some of my water fun for kids  posts that I have shared over the last few years.

A few years ago my daughter and her friend made a water blob.  While it takes a little bit of time to put together, they had hours of fun,

While our homemade surfboards are not to be used in the water, we did play a lot of water themed games at Kara's Beach Bash Birthday

If you would like to see how to make these play surfboards, you can see how on my post Surf's Up

One of our favorite party dishes were these Crabby Sandwiches.

Another fun water treat is when we made these swimming and surfing bear marshmallow pops

Stay cool, and have fun!

The Busy Week, and Garage Sale Tips

I have not fallen off the face of the earth, but I have been spending a ton of time in my garage the last several days.   This past weekend was my youngest daughter's dance recital, and then this week I have been very busy preparing for our garage/moving sub sale. The month of June has been very busy for us, that's for sure!

Since I have been so busy with this sale, I thought I would re-share some of my favorite Garage Sale Tips as a veteran garage sale hoster. I am lucky that each year my subdivision puts on an annual sub sale, which helps with the traffic and advertising.

Celebrations

You may have noticed that I have been a bit quiet this past week.  We have a lot going on here this week, including a few celebrations.

Over the weekend, my oldest graduated from high school. The years flew by, and it felt a bit surreal that she was really as old as she is.  I thought for sure I would be crying all the way through.  I was quite surprised that I only cried once. She is part of a big class, and was feeling anxious about walking in the ceremony.  The processional was several minutes long, and for a quite awhile I did not see her.  When I finally spotted her I was overcome with emotion and relief. Once the ceremony started, I had stopped crying and enjoyed watching the class of 2015 get their diplomas.

This week is also dance recital week.  My youngest has literally been dancing since she was in diapers.  She started just after she turned two, because she wanted to be like her big sister.  My oldest danced for 8 years, and stopped at the end of 6th grade.  My youngest is on her 12th year, and 11th recital.  At our annual dance banquet she received her 11 yr recital  trophy.  But the time she is a senior in high school,  she will  have been dancing for 16 years.

Are you celebrating anything this month?  I would love to hear about it.

5 Favorite Movie Parties

One of my favorite things about summer, is the release of summer movies.  My kids and I seem to watch a lot of movies in the summer.  Our local movie theater gives out free popcorn on Tuesdays. We will  go see a matinee, and save a lot of money with cheaper prices and free snacks,   Back when I was a kid, it would be quite a treat to go watch a movie at a drive in. I have some great memories of those summer nights with my friends and family.   Our local outdoor mall has free outdoor movies on a big screen every other Saturday which feels a little bit like a drive in. It is always a fun time.

This summer there are some movies that are we are really looking forward to seeing such as Inside Out,  Minions, and  Pixels, Hopefully I will have the chance to see them, and come up with some fun new party ideas.   Some of my popular posts on this blog are my movie themed parties, so I thought it would be fun to share them again.

The movie that I am the most excited about this summer is Minions. I loved both of the Despicable Me movies, and love those silly little guys.  I really  loved putting together ideas for this party.

While the movie Frozen was not released in the summer, it is has been one of the most popular parties on my blog.  Over a year later I am still singing Let it Go, and I am really looking forward to Frozen 2.

One of my favorite children's books of all time is Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs.  I was so excited when it was made into not one, but two movies.   After the first movie, we had a Cloudy themed party for my daughter's  9th birthday.  After the second, I came up with even more ideas like the Foodimals from Cloudy 2.

Another Movie that we really loved, and really look forward to seeing the sequels is last years hit The LEGO movie.

While Pokemon has not been made into a major studio feature film, there many Pokemon movies, and seasons of the animated show still on T.V.  My son LOVED Pokemon when he was younger, and we had this party for his 8th birthday.  To this day it is still one of his favorite parties ever.
