Painted Santa Gift Box

Disclosure: This post  contains  affiliate links.

Have you ever seen one of those Paper Mache Heart Boxes
at the craft store, and wondered what to do with them?   Today I am going to show you how you can turn it into a Painted Santa Gift Box.

Start with a plain heart box.  When you paint Santa's face, the point part of the heart will be pointed up, and the curved part of the heart pointed down.

Paint the entire box, inside and out your favorite shade of red.

Using flesh colored paint, paint a rectangular shape on the top part of the heart. It does not have to be perfect, because you will be painting over it more paint in a later step. On the top part of the face dab on white paint.  This will be the fuzzy part of Santa's hat.

The next step is to start layering on the beard and hair. Using white paint, make outward strokes to from around the face.

Continue layering paint until the beard and hair is filled in.

Paint on some eyes, a nose and cheeks.  You can either use watered down red or pink paint for the cheeks, depending on what color you want them to be.

Start painting mustache lines, and once you know where they are going to be, paint on a mouth.

Continue filling in the mustache, until you have it the way you like it.  All that is left is to add some details like eyebrows, and white dots on his eyes.

That's all there is to it..

  3. My 2 years old daughter loves to draw and paint (she call it like that but it's not so much painting, as spilling color everywhere hehe). I believe she would be so excited if we'd work on a project like this one.

Thanks for the tip. Have a lovely day.
