Valentine Heart Pops

Valentine Heart Pops

I am very busy helping my daughter with her online courses this week, so I thought I would share an oldie but goodie Valentine  treat.   This is perfect time to share how to make Heart Pops for Valentines Day, because you  still have a good chance to find candy canes on clearance.  We made these for her class 2 years ago, which is why she looks so young in the picture.

You start to make the pops by lining up two candy canes on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper.   I find that the smaller candy canes work the best.

After lining up the candy cane hearts, insert a lollipop stick.  It may cause the canes to shift a bit, so try and keep them touching as much as possible.

The next step is to fill in the hearts.  With a spoon carefully add melted red candy melts to the heart. I also added red sprinkles to give it something extra.  Place the pops in the freezer for a few minutes so the candy will set.

We wrapped the pops in red cellophane bags and tied  them with a curly ribbon.

They were a huge hit with her class, and super simple to make.
