How to Make a Boutonniere

My youngest daughter has been going to a daddy-daughter dance with her dad for several years now.  Instead of buying a boutonniere for her dad that was going to die in a few days, she asked if we could make one that she could keep forever.  We were able to do some with inexpensive supplies from the dollar store and craft store.   You will need flowers of your choice, floral wrap tape, and an accent piece.   Kara chose a red rose and a white accent.

Cut the flower and accent to the desired length, about 3 to 4 inches.  Its better to cut longer and then trim, than cutting it too short.

Starting at the bottom, tightly wrap the floral tape around both pieces.

Continue up the stem, until both pieces are secure.

While it might not be as fancy as a real flower, you will now have a memento of a special day that you can keep forever.
