About

My name is Pam and I am the very busy mom of  2 teens and a preteen.

Even as a kid, I had a love of making things. In college, the love continued. I started out thinking about a major in Art, and ended with a degree in Human Ecology. (a fancy name for Home Economics)  I now use that degree every fall when my kids ask me to make unusual Halloween costumes.  In the past few years I have had  to make a hatching chick, Domo, a flying chameleon, and a fox.

When my kids were younger  they loved themed parties.  I loved planning themed parties, and did so as often as I  a could.   Some of our favorites over the years   have been Dinosaurs, Little Mermaid, Pokemon, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs and just recently a Woodland Animals.  Now that my kids are older, they don't really want themed parties as much.  (pout!)   I started Pam's Party and Practical Tips so I could still have a creative outlet, and share the  things that I love to do.

In addition to planning children's parties, I love crafting, baking, couponing, and bargain shopping.   Now that my kids have teen size appetites, couponing really helps save a lot a money in the budget.  I will often share my great finds on the blog.

Recently two of my kids have joined the blog with their own series of posts.   My son loves to cook, and  cooks well!  He recently had to take health in school, and wanted to eat a bit healthier.  I told him that I would love it if he would come up with some healthy recipes that he was willing to eat.  He did, and Cooking with Kyle was born.

My daughter Kara is quite the craft diva. She loves to craft, and can often be found digging into the craft supplies in our craft room.  She started a series Crafting with Kara, which is crafts for kids by a kid.  Recently she was asked to join http://www.allfreekidscrafts.com/ with me as a designer.  She is the youngest designer on the site.
