Where Were You on 9/11

If you were old enough to really understand what was going on that fateful September day,  you remember what you were doing at the time you found out.   I remember it being a beautiful sunny Tuesday morning,  just like it was today.  My kids were only 4, 2 and 2 months old, so we were just relaxing at home. I was watching the Today show, and chatting with some of the moms  on a board for July babies.  Little did we know how our lives were going to change by what we were seeing on the T.V.  We were all in a daze for the next few days, in shock to what we just witnessed.

There were some uncanny similarities today for me, that were just like that day.  September 11, 2001 also  fell on a Tuesday.  It was a bright and beautiful day.  That day in 2001,  was my oldest  daughters first day of dance.  She was so excited, and had been looking forward to it for weeks. Today was not Kara's first  day of dance ever  (it is her 10th year),  but her dance classes also  started back up today.  Lots of little things happened, that reminded me  of that day 11 years ago.   But instead of watching the news in shock and horror, we see a nation coming today to honor and remember. We see a nation permanently changed.  A nation that will never forget.

  1. I was in elementary school! 4TH grade! I was too young to understand back then, but have learned an extreme amount since... of course!

  2. You're so right.. If you were old enough you definitely remember what you were doing.. I was sitting in 8th grade English class and another teacher came and told our class. My grandmother compares it to when Kennedy was shot.. If you were old enough to remember she says you'll always remember exactly where you were.
