Garlic Bread in a Pinch

We were having spaghetti for dinner tonight, but I did not have any garlic bread.  Instead of running to the store to buy some, I remembered we had something in the pantry that would do.

I had a few hotdog buns leftover from the last time we had hotdogs.  They are the perfect size for mini loaves of garlic bread.

Open up the buns and place on a cookie sheet

Spread a coating of butter or margerine over the buns.  I then added some garlic salt, parm cheese and a tiny bit of italian seasoning.

I baked in a 450 degree oven for about 5-7 minutes. Keep a close eye on it though, because they can burn easily.    Everyone loved it and asked for seconds.

  3. I've done this before but had forgotten about it! Doesn't it work well in a pinch? If you're the type to put the spaghetti on your bread, you really can't notice much of a difference!

  4. Oh my gosh, we used to do this all the time when we were kids! I think we liked it more than the toaster. Thanks for helping me remember a great memory. Yum!

  9. My aunt would just use sandwich bread when she ran out...I like this idea too. I guess it doesn't matter what bread it is as long as it had garlic and butter : )
